Gratitude for the Swine Flu

After a week on vacation – our family came home with more than souvenirs and happy memories. We are all sick. After a positive influenza test we were informed that we should assume we are also positive for the H1 N1 Swine Flu. The reentry time period, after vacationing, can be stressful with laundry, mail and playing general catch up in your life. When you come home sick and must hibernate until your fevers and symptoms are gone – you can feel like you are going crazy. As the mom I want control. I wanted things to go back to normal and be back on a routine. Swine flu is anything but normal. So after some mental kicking and screaming – I woke up yesterday and had my quiet time and decided to find the gratitude in having a family of 4 all infected with influenza and stuck at home. I could easily go on and on about all the ways I have been inconvenienced by this familial illness. Choosing to see the glass as half full is the best way I have found to connect with God. I find God in the gratitude instead of fear and frustration. In my reflection this is what I found.

I am grateful for Swine Flu because…
